Trauma Therapy in Keller, TX
Heal Deeply, Reconnect Fully
Heal Emotional Wounds & Regain Trust
Trauma isn’t just about what happened to you — it’s about how your body and mind learned to cope with it. Whether from childhood experiences, betrayal, or repeated stress, trauma often lingers in patterns of disconnection, anxiety, or shame. These responses may have once kept you safe, but over time, they can leave you feeling stuck, isolated, and overwhelmed.
Patterns of Trauma: How Old Wounds Keep You from Connection
When trauma hasn’t been fully healed, it often shows up in your closest relationships. You might:
Shut down emotionally when conflict arises
Feel easily triggered by certain tones, words, or behaviors
Over-function or people-please to avoid rejection
Pull away or lash out when you most want closeness
These patterns are not your fault. They’re protective responses your nervous system built for survival. But they can quietly erode intimacy, leaving you longing for connection yet unsure how to reach it.
Trauma therapy provides a safe space to pause, explore, and gently shift the patterns that keep you disconnected. Together, we’ll work on:
Slowing down reactions so you can respond with awareness instead of reactivity
Identifying triggers and emotional cycles that leave you stuck
Rebuilding trust and safety in yourself and your relationships
Processing old wounds in a supportive, compassionate space
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened. It means learning how to reclaim your sense of safety, worthiness, and ability to connect deeply again.

Withdrawal and shut-down – avoiding vulnerability to stay safe
Reactivity and anger – pushing others away before they can hurt you

These cycles can quietly erode connection, leaving partners caught in repeating arguments or silence that feels impossible to break.

Why Trauma-Informed Therapy Works
Our approach combines trauma-informed care with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helping you:
Recognize how old wounds show up in your present relationships
Understand the deeper needs driving conflict or disconnection
Create new, healthier ways of relating that support closeness instead of distance
By slowing down and creating safety, we help you break free from the cycles trauma built and open the door to lasting healing.

We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Most insurance plans do not cover couples therapy and require a mental health diagnosis, which can impact the length of sessions and our approach to care.
Our work is holistic and client-centered, focusing on you and your relationship as a whole—not just a diagnosis. We also prioritize confidentiality, which can be affected by insurance involvement.
To help with out-of-network costs, we partner with Mentaya, a service that assists clients in getting reimbursed for therapy. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will handle claim submissions and insurance paperwork on your behalf. We can also provide a receipt (superbill) for you to submit directly to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

The length of time to see progress can vary based on the individual or couple's specific needs and the complexity of the trauma. Some clients begin noticing changes after just a few sessions, while others may take several months to fully process and heal. The goal of therapy is to create lasting change at your pace, with support every step of the way.

Trauma therapy can be beneficial for both individuals and couples. Whether you're seeking help for personal healing or working through relationship difficulties caused by trauma, our approach is tailored to support your unique needs. EFT can help individuals process trauma on their own or as part of couples' therapy, fostering deeper emotional understanding and growth.

This depends on your unique needs and circumstances, as every client’s journey is different. Some clients find meaningful progress in a few months, while others benefit from ongoing support for a year or more. My goal is never to keep you in therapy longer than necessary, but to meet you where you are, provide transparency, and support you in a way that feels right for you.

Q: Therapy can be expensive—how do I know if it’s worth the investment?
Investing in therapy is an investment in yourself, your relationships, and your overall well-being. The benefits extend beyond the therapy room, helping you break unhealthy patterns, improve communication, and build deeper emotional connections. While the cost may feel significant, the long-term value—greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and emotional resilience—often outweighs the expense. Many clients find that the clarity and growth they gain through therapy positively impact multiple areas of their lives, making it one of the most meaningful investments they can make.
